Dean Murray Isman Bursary in Plant Science
UBC is committed to helping students from all backgrounds achieve academic success to pursue their personal and professional goals. The Dean Murray Isman Bursary in Plant Science was established by alumni, former colleagues, and friends for outstanding graduate students in plant science who demonstrate financial need.
Dr. Isman, a UBC alumnus, was a professor of entomology for 35 years in the UBC Department of Plant Science and a former dean of the Faculty of Land and Food Systems. He’s internationally recognized for his discoveries and development of botanical insecticides and antifeedants, and for research in insect-plant chemical interactions and insect chemical ecology.
Your gift will provide selected students with funding to help ease some of their financial burden so they can focus on their studies and achieve their full potential.
