Medical emergencies can happen any time and without warning. Help UBCO students gain the skills, confidence and leadership needed to perform first aid and save lives with a gift to the Emergency First Response Team (UBC EFRT).

UBC EFRT is a volunteer organization that trains UBCO students in standard first aid through the Canadian Red Cross, which can progress up to level-three first responder. Established in 2016, the club has about 35 members who work 24/7 during the academic year alongside the Campus Security Team.

In June 2022, members of UBC EFRT acted quickly when a student suffered a massive heart attack on campus. Their rapid response and expertise in first aid saved the student’s life.

Your gift will fund much-needed training equipment; weather appropriate, on-duty uniforms; and advanced levels of first aid training for members, to help support people when they need it most.
