Heat Cross Country
Special Thanks To
Heat Cross's Faculty
Last fall, the UBC Okanagan Heat Women's Cross Country team made it back-to-back years as silver medalists at the Canada West Championships and in 2022, finished 5th in the country against established powerhouse universities. As an emerging top running program in the country, the Heat Cross Country program is expanding to also offer a winter indoor track and field season so we can support our athletes with the same opportunities as at other top running schools. Currently we have several top athletes in Canada within our program, including three members of the 2021 Canadian Olympic team.
With your help, we will continue to reach our goals and positively impact the lives of the student-athlete members of the UBCO Okanagan Heat Cross Country team. Your support is an investment in these young leaders and in the future of athletics at UBCO.
The cross country and track team is a hybrid funded program that relies on community support and donations to supplement the base funding it receives for its team activities. As BC is limited to only one indoor track facility (Kamloops) we are required to travel by plane to the majority of competitions; your gift will help fund travel expenses for the men's and women’s teams to competitions with the goal of creating a year round competitive program for our runners.
