The Malcolm Knapp Research Forest (MKRF) is more than just a forest—it’s a living laboratory where students, researchers and community members can experience and learn about sustainable forestry and ecosystem management firsthand. Established in 1949, MKRF has welcomed generations of Forestry students and alumni, who cherish memories of field school studies and research trials that connect them deeply to nature.

With over 60,000 visitors each year, MKRF now faces an urgent need for expanded facilities to meet the growing demand for its unique educational and outreach programs. By supporting the MKRF Renewal Project, you can help establish a new Forestry Learning Centre, an Outdoor Research and Training Hub and essential infrastructure like safe drinking water and updated facilities.
