B.A.R.K. - Building Academic Retention Through K9's

Since 2012, UBC’s Building Academic Retention through K9s (B.A.R.K.) program has provided regular opportunities for UBC students to spend time with therapy dogs to reduce their stress and homesickness and get connected to others on campus. With over 60 trained therapy dogs and handlers, attending B.A.R.K. sessions has become a popular way for students to recharge after a hectic week of studying.

In light of in-person programming restrictions as a result of COVID-19, the B.A.R.K. program has adapted to a virtual context. The program aims to continue to support students facing heightened stress as a result of online-based learning. Your support will help B.A.R.K. to continue to run programs that help students in need. By making a donation, you will assist with ongoing operational costs for programs for our campus and wider community.
